“Best Clam chowder you will ever eat!! They grill the bread for god sakes!! We were going to stop at the one in Pismo but the line was so long we drove 30 mins to San Luis Obispo and had no wait.”
- David G., Phoenix, AZ 1/31/2012

“It's good. Best clam chowder I've ever had.”
- Katari S., Alhambra, CA 1/24/2012

“Super delicious! Everything I've ever eaten here has been great, such as the black bean burger, fish and chips, salad, and of course, the clam chowder bread bowl. I usually stop here at least once every time I visit SLO, it's a great place to meet friends for a tasty, affordable lunch. They bake their own breads, so definitely get a sandwich or a cup of clam chowder with a side of grilled sourdough if you can't handle the epicness of an entire clam chowder bread bowl. The only downside (if you can call it that) is that it is ALWAYS busy, so getting a table for a large group or eating in under an hour is impossible. Totally worth it, though!”

“We were traveling through and stopped for lunch. It was even better than the reviews. The Mahi Mahi tacos are the best ever!”
- Keith M., Los Angeles, CA 1/4/2012

“Well, I came here on a recommendation. Glad I did, it is really good! I'll be back for sure. The only thing I didn't like was trying to find parking.”
- Jason W., San Luis Obispo, CA 12/6/2012

“Hands down the best clam chowder I've ever eaten, even compared to the ones in San Francisco! The goat cheese, pesto, shrimp pizza is not too bad either ;)”

“Try the clam chowder! It was one of the best I've had! We were 4 and ordered 4 different types of fish, I think the scallops were the best.”
- Elisa L., Los Angeles, CA 1/3/2012

“By far the BEST clam chowder I've ever had. Every time I make a trip down to socal and I take 101, I *always* have to make a stop here. Their clam chowder is just so rich and it has a bit of a thicker consistency, but it's very savory and on a cold day (or warm), it just hits the spot. Just the right amount of saltiness. I also order the loaf of toasted bread. Mmmm GOOD! I'm drooling now. I want me some Splash!!”

“Clam chowder + sourdough bread = very filling lunch so creamy, clams are prefect and chewy, dusted lightly with pepper and you've got perfection. don't forget to take a picture outside in front of the mural, great PHOTO OP and everyone seems to love it here.”
- Christina G., Millbrae, CA 9/29/2011

“The clam chowder was very delicious, nice and creamy and they even butter the sourdough bread that is the main part of the bowl. Seafood topping is a dollar extra, which is just crab sprinkled on top. The other food on the menu and desserts looked really good, but we stuck to just the chowder. You can watch them make the sourdough in the back clear windows and they've got a really cool machine that shapes the bread. It's a small little cafe near SLO.”

“Came here again today as I couldn't resist the call of the Clam Chowder. Got the Bread Bowl and the calamari and fries. Food was awesome as usual and the staff was super friendly. The place was busy as usual and it was a good evening sitting on the patio and enjoying my dinner. Can't wait to go back!”
- Perry N., Oakland, CA 10/22/2011

“The reviews are what brought us here, and yes, it lived up to the hype. So cute, bakery/cafe/restaurant. Reasonably priced and yummy large portioned food. We ordered waaay too much but indulged on leftovers during our drive home to L.A. We tried the clam chowder, and our 2 year old hijacked the pint for himself. Come give this place a try whether you're a local (lucky you) or just passing through.”

“My favorite place to stop while driving up to NorCal from SoCal. It's conveniently located off the 101 in a quaint little town amidst the hills. We had the clam chowder in a bread bowl, which trumps the ones at Disneyland (sorry, Disney fans) exponentially. I loved the way they toasted their bread, and the claim chowder tasted amazing after 4 hours of driving. They also have plenty of baked goods if you need to satiate your sweet tooth!”
- Lily B., Cypress, CA 1

“BEST CLAM CHOWDER IN THE WORLD. Get it in a bread bowl with seafood topping, and you'll be in Heaven! I love the creamy, buttery texture and the toasted bread bowl really gives this place 5 stars.”
- Ally C., San Francisco, CA 12/9/2011

“Come early. Because the line goes right out the door when they're busy. You must order the clam chowder bread bowl if it is your first time. My favorite part is that they actually grill your hollowed out piece of sourdough. The clam chowder reminds me of the Campbell's version but better lol.”
- Michael R., La Habra, CA 7/25/2011

“What a great spot to stop by on the 101! Thanks Yelp for recommending this place, it was the perfect lunch break on the way from SF to LA. Very good clam chowder and fish and chips and awesome tuna salad; all the ingredients in the salad were so fresh! Service was also very nice and friendly, and we really enjoyed eating on their little patio on that sunny day. Highly recommended if you're in the area!”

“I am a fan of fast casual that does it right. Their fish and chips are consistent, the fish tacos are yummy and you cant go wrong with the clam chowder! The food comes out hot, the spiral french fries are always crispy not soggy.I come here with friends, by myself and with business lunches. Thanks for being so consistent!”
